LEARNING ENVIRONMENT EVALUATION

Our primary goal is to assist our clients in developing teaching and learning spaces supporting strategies that drive student success. Steelcase has created an assessment tool, the Learning Environment Evaluation, that includes a pre-and-post installation survey and summary report.

The assessment is done in a three-step process:

  1. Before you receive your classroom, the instructor(s) and students complete the online pre-installation portion of the survey. The survey asks questions that will assess both student and instructor perceptions regarding theĀ current learning environment.
  2. After several weeks of using the new space, the instructor(s) and students take the online post-installation portion of the survey. The survey will ask questions that will assess both student and instructor perceptions regarding theĀ new learning environment. (Average time for each portion of the survey is 5 – 7 minutes)
  3. We will use the pre-and-post installation survey responses to gauge both engagement levels and behavioral changes in the Active Learning space. Steelcase Education and our team will assemble and report results to your administration contacts.

The findings in this report will help educational leaders understand what is possible when the physical environment is designed to support more active teaching and learning experiences. We invite you to use this information for inspiration and goal setting.
