Meet the team behind our K-12 education projects

Our dedicated K-12 Education Team is passionate about creating effective and inspiring learning environments.

Kate Reckinger

I’ve had a passion for interior design industry since the meager age of 8. After many years of eccentric designs within my childhood bedroom (ask my parents about the time I covered my entire bedroom ceiling with photos…using staples), I attended Dunwoody College where I received my Bachelors in Interior Design.

As a fresh grad in 2011 I joined the GOP team as an Account Executive where I worked closely with the A&D community to furnish corporate, housing and health care projects. In 2013 I had the opportunity to be part of the design team for Alexandria Area High School and it was within that process I found my passion for creating education spaces.

My work is now 100% K-12 -focused, where I find daily motivation and inspiration from the educators, designers and architects who strive to create better experiences for students. I’ve never known more creative, authentic and driven people than those I get to interact with every day.

Outside of work my world revolves around and is inspired by my husband Kory, our daughter Eleanor and our (first baby) dog Heidi. I find joy in time spent with family, traveling and a well-designed space.

Fun fact: I still haven’t pulled all of the staples out of my childhood bedroom ceiling.

Renie Brown

I was born and raised in the education centered town of Iowa City which is home of the University of Iowa and the teaching focused University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics.  I am the daughter of a college professor where learning was central to how we lived. Trust me, I could make an MLA citation like nobody’s business.  That being said, I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a designer.  I was constantly rearranging our entire house by myself (my mom didn’t have any problem with this but the hardwood floors did) which led to job shadowing interior designers while in high school.

I attended the rival school of my home city, Iowa State University, to earn my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Design and minoring in Design Studies with a focus on art history.

I found myself in the furniture industry right out of college and after several hops finally stopped in Twin Cities 5 years ago to work at General Office Products.  Kate and I quickly discovered that we made a great team and started the focus on K-12 education.  I love nothing more than helping educators to reinvent their space to create new learning environments.  It’s inspiring to see how innovative the students and teachers are!

I spend my free time with my fiancée Dennis and our pup Oliver often in a new baking adventure. To clarify they only eat and, yes, the dog usually partakes as I’m a very messy baker.  To offset the baking, I love running while catching up my favorite podcasts.

Fun fact: when I sneeze, I sneeze many times in a row.
